Play golf without
the bullshit.
Same scorecard. Same par. Same handshake on the 18th.
Free forever for early members. No handicap required.
We removed the part of golf that punishes you twice.
You hit a slightly wayward tee shot. Standard golf used to make you punch out sideways, lose a stroke or two, and quietly hate yourself for forty-five minutes.
Swoop removes the bad lie. Not the bad shot. The ball can be placed on a circle the same distance from the hole — never closer — on a friendlier patch of grass. Same stroke count. Same par. Just a fair chance at the next shot. Hazards become rough. Water becomes rough. Trees become rough. There are no penalty strokes. There is no handicap. Every stroke still counts.
Six rules. One circle. Every stroke counts.
The whole game on one piece of paper.
The Circle Rule
After every shot, the ball may be placed anywhere on an imaginary circle centred on the hole at the same distance as where the ball came to rest, provided it is not moved closer to the hole.
Hazards Are Just Rough
Water, bunkers, trees, and bush are treated like rough. No penalty strokes apply.
Every Stroke Counts
Par still matters. Count every shot.
The Circle Applies Everywhere
Fairway, rough, bunkers, water, fringe, and green.
Place, Don’t Drop
One careful placement only.
Play Fast. Play Fair. Play Fun.
If in doubt, choose the lie you genuinely meant to hit.
Same distance from the hole.
Just a friendlier patch of grass.
Same distance from the hole.
Never closer.
Place — don’t drop.
One player. One hole. Two sports.
A par 4 dogleg. Same swing off the tee. Both balls drift into the bush on the left.
Standard golf
- Tee shot drifts into the trees on the left.
- Punch out sideways, lose 15 metres on the lateral, lie one short of the fairway.
- Third into the water short of the green. One-stroke penalty + drop.
- Pitch on, two-putt. Half an hour after the tee shot, finally walking off the green.

Quietly furious
Swoop
- Same tee shot, same trees.
- Place on the circle — same distance from the hole, still in the rough, but playable. No penalty stroke.
- Carry the water with a real swing this time. Approach lands twenty feet from the pin.
- Two-putt. Walking to the next tee while the other group is still searching.

Sharper than expected
For people who love golf more than golf loves them.
The Lapsed Enthusiast
Remember when golf was actually fun?
Played 30 rounds a year in their twenties. Now plays six. Mortgage, kids, and a creeping handicap. Swoop gives them their Saturday afternoon back.
The New Social Golfer
Yes, you’re allowed on a real golf course.
Came via Topgolf, a sim bay, or a bucks weekend. Owns clubs. Doesn’t own a handicap. Swoop says they belong out there too.
The Frustrated Improver
Your swing’s fine. The lie was the problem.
Club member, handicap 18–28. Loves the game, frustrated by their own performance. Swoop lets the work they’ve done at the range actually show up on the scorecard.
The Mates’ Group Captain
Settle the side-bet, finish before sundown.
Organises the annual trip, the bucks weekend, the office comp. Mixed abilities, slow play, sandbagging politics. Swoop sorts all of it — same rule, every player, every hole.
It’s not a pitch. It’s already built.
Most “new sport” ideas live in a deck. Swoop is a live web app, a locked brand, a working format, and a small but real community already playing it.
The App
Live PWA at swoop.golf. Score a round, host a tournament, refer a mate. Free forever for early members. Built on Firebase, ready to scale.
The Brand
Charcoal-and-bone identity, Maggie the Magpie as mascot, a voice we’ve locked from day one. Premium, cheeky, unmistakably Australian.
The Format
Six rules tested on real courses with real players. Twilight Swoop and Mate’s Group Open event templates ready to run at partner clubs.
Six rules. One circle.
Every stroke counts.
